The Canterbury Flames have overcome a slow start to beat the Capital Shakers 50-35 in this afternoon's National Bank netball Cup clash in Christchurch.
The Shakers took a surprise 9-6 lead after a low-scoring and scrappy opening quarter.
But the home side won the remaining three quarters to close out the match and keep their semifinal hopes alive.
