There is support for suggestions that Netball New Zealand is not going to add an extra round to the National Bank Cup next year.
Rumours abound that netball officials have canned the idea, reverting back to the status quo of just one full round of games.
Netball NZ is yet to comment.
Canterbury Flames coach Marg Foster says reverting back to one round makes sound financial sense, and while the extra round is a great idea for the future, it is a little soon.
Foster points out that next year's Commonwealth Games will make the schedule tight, and with players still semi-professional it is not easy financially.
Foster says extra sponsorship money would have to be found, and the rules will need to be altered on imported players as it is quite a financial burden to transport an import player to and from a province for a longer period of time.
