Edgar Centre general manager Blair Crawford is encouraging the Southern Steel to shift base to Dunedin for next year's ANZ netball Championship season.
Invercargill's Stadium Southland could be unavailable for up to 18 months after sustaining severe damage during a snow storm.
It's understood the Steel's preference is to forge ahead and play several fixtures at the nearby velodrome.
But Crawford says it's certainly possible for the Edgar Centre to step up and host all their home games.
He says Otago Netball would be disappointed if they didn't at least get another couple of fixtures.
Crawford says the Steel enjoy massive crowds in Invercargill but he's confident Dunedin can do the same.
