Fiji coach and former New Zealand defender Vilimaina Davu is mourning the death of her father, who reportedly collapsed when welcoming her home from the netball world championship.
Nadi police have confirmed that Davu's father was part of a small group of relatives and friends that met the Fijian team at Nadi International Airport on their return from the championship, which finished in Auckland on Saturday.
He collapsed at the airport and died later, Radio New Zealand International reported today.
Davu is believed to be in her village in Serua making arrangements for her father's burial later this week.
