New Zealand under-21 coach Janine Southby has made one change to her side for next month's world youth championships in Scotland.
Central zone's Nicola Mackle has had to withdraw from the team for medical reasons, with Waikato Bay of Plenty's Brooke Leaver, daughter of former Silver Fern Leonie, called into the side as a replacement player.
The New Zealand under-21 team head into camp in Auckland next week as preparation for the tournament intensifies.
The team includes several players who would likely be in contention for Silver Ferns trials, including Kayla Cullen, who has already debuted for the senior team. But for now those players have been asked to focus on their preparation for the world youth championships.
Cullen is expected to rejoin the Silver Ferns later in the international season, with coach Waimarama Taumaunu to assess how best to manage the young star's workload.
