New Zealand shooter Belinda Colling won't commit herself to continuing her Silver Ferns netball career later this year.
The 77-test campaigner leaves for Scotland early on Saturday morning to join partner Charlie Hore, who has a two-year rugby contract with the Borders club.
Colling still wants to play for New Zealand and has already expressed interest in playing in the three-test series in Australia in November.
But the goal attack said she would not be indicating her availability until finding her feet on the other side of the world.
"I sort of don't want to over-promise," she said.
"If I get over and things change and I get comfortable with what I'm doing over there I might not come back."
Netball New Zealand wanted all the Silver Ferns prospects to confirm their availability before the national championships at Palmerston North from September 20-25.
Colling said being available would mean her having to be back at the start of October leading into the New Zealand squad training camp in the middle of the month, and then staying on through most of November.
When she arrives in Scotland the first project will be finding somewhere to live in Edinburgh.
"And then I'll sort of need to find gyms and trainers and all those sorts of things," she said.
Colling also intended to "touch base with the netball community" though she did not intend to front up for any club or national team there.
The Canterbury Flames captain had also been speaking to her home franchise and said they know where she stood. She had not promised any return.
"We're just staying in touch."
If the 28-year-old was coming back to the Flames, she said she would probably need to be back in February, with the Silver Ferns playing a home series against England in March.
