Australia's netballers claimed the overall test series over Jamaica despite a 54-51 loss in their third clash in Kingston.
The Diamonds won the opening test 63-51 and then drew the second against the Sunshine Girls 49-49.
They were looking to cap their short tour with a convincing win in the third match over one of their world championship rivals but fell short.
Despite the loss, Australia can still claim the series due to a better goal average, based on international rules for determining the result in the event of a tied competition.
Coach Norma Plummer said that the world No.1-ranked Diamonds had their chances against the world No.4 side.
"I felt that Jamaica played very well and we had every chance," she said.
"We had several more attempts in the first quarter and kept hitting the post; that was disappointing."
The teams will next meet in the world championships in Singapore in July.
