The Southern Sting won the National Bank Cup for the sixth consecutive time, beating the Canterbury Flames 63-55 in the final in Invercargill tonight.
Backed by a strong hometown support, Sting led from start to finish.
They were up 17-13 at the end of the first quarter, stretched that to 35-25 at halftime, were ahead 52-41 at three-quarter time and finished with an eight-point margin.
