Lois Muir was yesterday reappointed Otago Rebels coach for a fifth consecutive season.
But she is worried she will not be able to hold on to all of her top players. Muir's immediate concern - which applies also to her other role of Rebels chairwoman - is retaining the services of star players Anna Scarlett and Stephanie Bond as they near the end of their studies and become prime targets for other franchises.
The Capital Shakers are understood to be keenly interested in Scarlett, while both players could be wooed by the champion Southern Sting side.
Muir, 69, admitted she could not predict with confidence that both defenders would play for the Rebels next year.
She also confirmed the Rebels would be more open next season to the idea of recruiting players from other franchises or overseas.
