Silver Ferns and former Canterbury Flames goalshoot Belinda Colling has made a two-year switch to Southern Sting.
The 30-year-old 81-test veteran will fill a spot vacated by dual basketball-netball international Donna Loffhagen, who is chasing a professional basketball contract in the United States, the Southland Times reported today.
Southern TeamCo director Lee Piper expected Colling's experience to be a major asset for the Sting.
Team coach Robyn Broughton was looking forward to having Colling on-side but would miss Loffhagen's abilities.
"It's a big step for me to go past what Donna does for us. Donna's gone to basketball so we have to move on. It's exciting for us and for Belinda to have a change as well."
