New Zealand triathletes Chris McDonald and Fiona Docherty enjoyed top-10 finishes in Ironman Canada yesterday.
McDonald was fifth, equalling his best ironman finish, while Docherty was eighth in the women's race at Penticton after learning she had won a spot in October's world championship in Hawaii.
Competitors had to cope with scorching temperatures on the run over testing terrain.
Americans Chris Lieto and Karen Holloway headed their respective fields.
