New Zealand won six age group medals, including three gold, at the world triathlon championships in Lausanne, Switzerland overnight (NZT).
The gold medals went to North Harbour's Judy Barfoot in the 70-74 years women's age division, Tony Dodds in the 18-19 men and the evergreen John Hellemans in the 50-54 years division.
It is the eighth world title for Christchurch's Hellemans, who produced a strong run to win in two hours 17 minutes 27 seconds.
The other New Zealand medals went to Fiona MacKay, who won a silver in the 30-34 years group, and Wellington's Sam Mallard and Aucklander Tom Moyes, who were second and third respectively in the 20-24 years division.
More than 100 New Zealand athletes lined up in different age groups.
