Kris Gemmell faded to sixth in the home stretch in yesterday's International Triathlon Union World Cup event in Hamburg, after a mighty battle.
Down by a minute from the leaders after clocking 57m for the cycle, Gemmell was part of a nine-strong group which battled through the 10km run until the home straight.
Czech Filip Ospaly took the event in a photo finish ahead of Swiss Reto Hug, in 1h 45m 33s.
Bevan Docherty was eighth, Shane Reed 30th and Nathan Richmond 47th.
