Triathlon New Zealand is looking for a new boss as current chief executive Rick Faulding is leaving after six months in the job.
Faulding's wife Janet has been appointed to head up CanWest's operations in Istanbul, so Faulding will leave his post at Easter.
"It's a great opportunity but lousy timing," Faulding said.
Faulding said he left the job with triathlon on a high, with Olympic champion Hamish Carter and former world champion Bevan Docherty leading the vanguard.
To capitalise on the sport's popularity, Faulding has created a nine-race professional domestic series that will be launched before June, with the first race pencilled to start in October.
