Triathlon world champion Bevan Docherty won't have to look far for family support in next month's Tauranga half ironman.
The entire Docherty clan will be racing at Mt Maunganui on January 8 in the event, which doubles as the national long distance championship.
Mother Irene will link with children Bevan and Fiona in a team while father Ray will race as an individual in the 2km swim, 90km bike and 21km run event.
Bevan Docherty capped a great year when he was named Waikato sportsman of the year after his ITU Triathlon World Championship win in Madeira and his silver medal at the Athens Olympics.
His sister Fiona followed her 2003 world long-distance duathlon title in Switzerland with two major runner-up finishes this year at the Nice long-distance triathlon.
