Defending champion Richard Ussher looks to have taken control of the Coast to Coast Longest Day.
Ussher is about to head out on the 70 kilometre bike leg to Sumner Beach, having overtaken his rivals at the start of the kayak.
James Coubrough has come off the kayak six minutes behind Ussher with Braden Currie two minutes back.
Ussher's wife Elina leads the women's race from Fleur Pawsey.
