Former New Zealand Ironman champion Karyn Ballance has finished 9th in the Lake Placid Ironman in the USA.
The result is good enough to qualify Ballance for October's world championships in Kona- Hawaii.
She has been on the comeback trail from a foot injury.
Meanwhile Taupo triathlete Fiona Docherty has failed to finish the Lake Placid Ironman. Docherty was forced out of the race on the run and required medical treatment for an excessive intake of fluids.
