Former MotoGP rider and two-time world champion Casey Stoner (pictured) continues to lead the media on a merry dance about his intentions around racing a V8 Supercar.
Over the past couple of seasons he's been in the pit garage of Triple Eight Racing and mentioned he'd like to have a go at tin-top racing. Then he hinted he had no intention of going V8 racing, but was still seen in the pit garage. Fair enough, you might think - he could just be a fan.
Things got more interesting when his personal sponsor, Red Bull, signed on the dotted line replacing Vodafone as the naming rights sponsor of Triple Eight.
Next up we had reports of him saying, "It was always my plan to drive a V8. Since I was 12 I've always been interested in it."
It has also been reported that Stoner's Holden will sport his famous motorcycle racing number 27. In fact, it's been said he's pencilled in for his first public outing in his car on February 16 at the Sydney Motorsport Park.
