The who's who of New Zealand motorsport will come together for the Legends of Speed night at Vector Arena in Auckland next week.
Kiwi stars such as Scott Dixon, Hayden Paddon, Richie Stanaway, Earl Bamber, Brendon Hartley, Shane van Gisbergen, Scott McLaughlin and Fabian Coulthard will all be back for the occasion as the sport celebrates the new golden era of New Zealand motorsport.
"The night is to basically celebrate our current stars - we have got some wonderful young motorsport drivers that are doing great things on the world scene and we want to celebrate them in conjunction with a lot of older legends as well," says organiser Peter Johnston.
The event is designed to raise money for two vital elements of the sport that has helped produce the current crop of Kiwi stars.
"The Elite New Zealand Academy of Motorsport helps these young guys, it trains them to what they have to expect in the international world of motor racing," Johnston says. "Also our bring back the WRC campaign. We are fighting hard to get WRC back to New Zealand in 2018 and we have to start setting up camp now and getting people on the ground for that."
