MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez will miss next week's three-day test at Phillip Island as he continues to recover from a fractured leg.
Repsol Honda said the 21-year-old Spaniard was not fit enough to fly to Australia to participate in the final pre-season sessions, which begin next Monday.
"After a check-up today with Dr Mir in Barcelona, it was advised that Marc takes this opportunity to rest, rather than risk further injury, in order to prepare for the Qatar GP, which will begin in just three weeks," the team said in a statement on Wednesday.
Marquez, who last year became the youngest rider ever to win the world title and the first rookie in 35 years, broke his fibula during dirt track practice in Spain last week.
The injury kept him out of this week's three-day test in Sepang, Malaysia.
