Despite a big win, a rather awkward moment occured between Mercedes teammates Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg at the United States Grand Prix this morning.
While Hamilton started with a big points advantage, Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg had a late lead in the race. Had Rosberg gone on to win, Hamilton would have been forced to wait for the Mexican Grand Prix to celebrate a third Formula 1 World Championship title.
However, Rosberg lost control and ran wide in slippery conditions with eight laps to go, allowing Hamilton to take the lead. Rosberg finished second, in front of Sebastian Vettel.
While the two men are teammates, they are also strong rivals - and this rivalry showed as the drivers waited in the cool-down room for the trophy ceremony to begin.
