The Spyker F1 team, which was sold to Indian businessman Vijay Mallya and Dutch entrepreneur Michiel Mol this month, will be renamed Force India for 2008.
The short-lived Spyker team's name change was ratified at a World Motorsport Council meeting yesterday.
Spyker had a horror weekend at 2007's final round at Interlagos when Japanese driver Sakon Yamamoto's car was launched skywards after hitting the Renault of Giancarlo Fisichella.
