LONDON - Italian Formula One driver Vitantonio Liuzzi escaped injury after a 270km/h crash at Silverstone while testing for Red Bull Racing.
Team boss Christian Horner said Liuzzi, who races for the other Red Bull-owned Scuderia Toro Rosso team, went into the barriers at the fast Becketts corner.
"He didn't do any damage to himself, but the car had a reasonable amount of damage," he said.
"At the moment we don't know exactly what caused the accident."
The test with the Red Bull senior team was Liuzzi's second this season after competing in selected races for them last year. He will resume testing for Toro Rosso at the British circuit on Thursday.
