Kiwi Formula One star Brendon Hartley is back behind the wheel of his Toro Rosso in Melbourne next weekend for the first of 21 Grand Prix races of the 2018 season.
The 28-year-old from Palmerston North and long-time partner, photographer Sarah Wilson, tied the knot on January 10 at Mudbrick Estate on Auckland's Waiheke Island after 12 years together.
After a brief honeymoon mountain biking in Rotorua, Hartley was back in Europe in preparation for his first full Formula One season, starting at the Australian Grand Prix.
Last year, Hartley became New Zealand's first F1 driver in 33 years, and his contract reportedly made him one of the country's highest paid sportsmen.
Today Hartley reveals the phone call that secured him a shot at the big time and changed his life forever.
