Kiwi Brendon Hartley and his Toro Rosso Formula 1 team finally had a trouble free day with both cars surviving practice in Abu Dhabi overnight.
Hartley set more laps than any driver in practice 1 but managed only the 20th fastest time. He was marginally better in the second session, posting the 19th fastest time.
In both sessions the New Zealander was slower than teammate Pierre Gasly, who was 14th and 15th respectively.
But after three straight Grands Prix with engine failure Hartley and the team will be happy just getting through the day without incident.
"Nice to be back driving the Toro Rosso car after a couple of weeks' off F1 duty, changing cars once again in between F1 race weekends," Hartley said.
