Michael Schumacher has dismissed speculation that he may retire at the end of the Formula One season, claiming he can still win races this year.
"I am not thinking of retiring," Schumacher told German newspaper Bild. "I've said I'd retire when I can no longer hold my own against the younger drivers - I think I can still do that very well."
The seven-time world champion hasn't won a race in seven attempts this season, a year after dominating the competition with 13 wins. His best finish of the season is still the second place he secured in San Marino.
Schumacher is eighth in the standings with 16 points and his Ferrari team fifth. Even so, he said he was having more fun racing "than many people would like to think".
