KEY POINTS:
Of New Zealand's Formula One drivers, only Chris Amon has earned a place in the top 50 quickest drivers, as selected by a British magazine.
F1 Racing used statistical comparisons and the views of 29 experts, including president of the world body Max Mosley, Ferrari team chief Jean Todt and English driver Stirling Moss, to compile the list, which rates Brazilian Ayrton Senna as the quickest of all.
Amon, considered by many the quickest driver never to have won a GP, comes in 24th, ahead of former world champions Mario Andretti, Jody Scheckter, Guiseppe Farina, Jack Brabham and John Surtees. Bruce McLaren and Denny Hulme (world title winner) don't make it.
