Mick Schumacher, son of seven-time F1 sporting icon Michael Schumacher, won the Formula 3 European on Saturday - 28 years after his father achieved the same feat.
The 19-year-old, who finished second place in the day's second race in Hockenheim, Germany, with a race to spare, secured his win in his first junior championship as his proud mother watched on, the Daily Mail reported.
The young racer's mother Corinna Schumacher was seen beaming after her son's crowning moment, which saw his unassailable 347 points qualify him to race in the Formula One races next season.
The promising racer said: "It's a slightly unreal feeling. I'm absolutely delighted.
