Scott Dixon and Wade Cunningham are back in action this weekend at Milwaukee after their respective sixth and first finishes at Indianapolis. Defending Indycar champion Dixon is in fourth place after four rounds, 11 points behind leader Dario Franchitti. Cunningham, the 2005 Indy Lights champion, has his title hopes back on track after winning at Indy and is now also fourth in his championship.
100km race at Porsche GT3
The Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge will introduce a 100km race at each meeting late on Saturday afternoon, in addition to the two 20-minute races on Sunday. The longer race will include a compulsory pit stop and wheel change where two wheels must be changed.
Karters test in Lites
This weekend at Manfeild the best karters in New Zealand will be able to test in a Toyota Racing Series Lites' car. The young drivers' test session will select a driver to race a TRS Lites' car at a round of next summer's championship.
Kiwi injured in Spain
Former Kiwi Grand Prix motorcycle racer Simon Crafer is reportedly in a Spanish hospital after being involved in an accident while checking out the course for the next Romaniacs off-road motorcycle endurance event. The 1998 British Grand Prix winner sustained a fractured back and was airlifted to a Spanish hospital.
Cross-country 2nd round
The Cross-Country Motorcycle Championship's second round fires up this weekend at The Pylons, near Atiamuri. Jason Davis won the opening round and will be pushed hard by top national championship riders Karl Power and Nield brothers, Mitchell and Damon. The event also caters for junior riders with a 90-minute race.
Williams suspended in F1
The Williams Formula One team were the first to sign up for the 2010 F1 world championships and now they're the first to be suspended by the Formula One Teams Association (FOTA). F1's latest spat is over the spending cap FIA president Max Mosley wants to impose. Williams broke ranks with the others who said they wouldn't sign up for a new season unless the cap was scrapped.
