Continuing conjecture that the A1GP will not make the grid at next weekend's Australian V8 Supercar round on the Gold Coast has forced Nikon SuperGP general manager Greg Hooton to issue a statement. "... At this point in time, I need to make clear that A1GP has not breached any terms of contract with GCMEC [Gold Coast Motor Events Company]."

The 2009-10 MotorSport New Zealand Race championship series has been announced: November 6-8, 2009, Pukekohe; November 27-29, 2009, Ruapuna; January 15-17, 2010, Teretonga; January 22-24, 2010, Timaru; February 12-14, 2010, March 19-21, 2010, Taupo. Championships contested will be: BNTV8s, Toyota Racing Series (Teretonga onwards), Battery Town Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge, Suzuki Swift Sport Cup, NZ Formula Ford, NZ Production Racing, MINI Challenge.
Bailey to drive for TKR
Kart-turned-car driver, 20-year-old Ryan Bailey will drive one of Team Kiwi Racing's development cars in this season's MINI Challenge championship.
Suzuki goes it alone
The Suzuki Swift Sport Cup championship will run as a standalone event for the first time. Two-time champion Cody McMaster returns and will be joined by 15-year-old William Bamber, the 2007 NZ Mini Stock champion Michael Paaymens and scholarship winner Matt Gibson.
Stoner eyes third place
MotoGP rider Casey Stoner will be keen to win his home race this weekend at Phillip Island. After missing three races due to illness, the Aussie finished second in Portugal and will be looking to snatch third place in the championship.
FIA fight gets nasty
FIA president Max Mosley may be stepping down in October, but the attacks are still flying between the two candidates Jean Todt and Ari Vatanen, each accusing the other of dirty tricks. New Zealand has thrown its support behind Todt as the next president.
