German Nico Hulkenberg has set an unwanted F1 record, and taken it with exceptionally good humour.
The 30-year-old German raced to his 129th start without a podium finish in Singapore, pipping his compatriot Adrian Sutil's horror mark set in 2014.
Renault's Hulkenberg was fully prepared for the record low, saying before the latest F1 race: "The Sutil era is ending, and the Hulkenberg era begins. I have waited a long time and worked really hard to have this record."
Hulkenberg has had a couple of chances to break his duck. But he blew a lead in the 2012 Brazilian GP with a crash and had an altercation with the barriers in Azerbaijan this year when he might have finished in the top three.
Hulkenberg - who did taste A1 GP triumph in New Zealand 10 years ago - was running fourth in the Singapore GP when he was hit by a hydraulic problem with only minutes left in the race, and did not finish.
