Race drivers Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup shared some driving tips with the world's most recognised sportsman, Tiger Woods, during the second round of the V8 Supercar championship series in Pukekohe.
Woods was in Auckland for the marriage of his caddie, Steve Williams. The two drove stock cars in a celebrity event for charity in Huntly on Monday night.
"He's someone I'd always wanted to meet," said Lowndes. "Without doubt he's the world's most recognised athlete, and it was a big thrill to share some time with him.
"I play a little golf, and I can tell you I certainly admire what he has achieved."
Whincup too was thrilled to meet Woods. "Hey, I thought Lowndes was popular, and then I meet Woods," he said.
"He was very determined to do well in the celebrity race. Obviously he gives everything 100 per cent whether it's golf, driving or fishing."
