KEY POINTS:
ADELAIDE - The Clipsal 500 race around the streets of Adelaide will move to February next year to ensure it remains the first round of the V8 Supercar championship.
With the V8s returning to race at the Australian Formula One Grand Prix in Melbourne in 2008, the Clipsal event will now move to February 21-24, earlier that its usual March dates.
It puts the four-day motorsport carnival into the thick of a string of events in Adelaide including the Festival of Arts, the Adelaide Fringe and the WOMAdelaide music festival.
This year's Clipsal 500 attracted a record 276,900 spectators over the four days but advance grandstand and corporate ticket sales were running at an all-time high for next year's race, suggesting another record crowd.
