KEY POINTS:
Aston Martin will race at Le Mans in 2008 in the familiar blue and orange colours of Gulf Oil.
It holds great significance for the Oil Company, as they first tasted victory at Le Mans when Ford GT40s in the livery won in 1968 despite Porsche's lightning 907s being rated favourites.
The 2008 Le Mans race will be exactly 40 years since that victory, and Aston's DBR9's will be looking to do the same again.
David Richards, chairman of Aston Martin, said: "Endurance racing is engrained in the heritage of both Gulf and Aston Martin and we have also both been intrinsically linked through Le Mans for many decades.
It was perhaps destined that, in the year we defend our GT1 title and Gulf celebrates the 40th anniversary of its win, we would finally race together at La Sarthe."
The two DBR9's will wear the numbers 007 and 009.
