Reigning V8 Supercars champion Mark Winterbottom will draw on strong car speed from the Grand Prix event when the team lands in Tasmania for the year's first SuperSprint later this week as he aims for his first win in The Bottle-O Ford.
Winterbottom finished second in race one at the event in 2015, and while Prodrive Racing Australia has performed well at Symmons Plains previously, the champion believes further improvement is possible.
"I really like Tassie, it's always been a good event for our team and although it's a small track it's probably one of my favourites," Winterbottom says.
"At the Grand Prix we had very good car speed but a few issues as well so if we can use that car speed again and get up the front I think we can race well.
"Hopefully it's a good weekend for us and we will be trying to get our first win in The Bottle-O colours."
