Motorsport: Winterbottom eager to defend V8 Supercars title

Reigning V8 Supercars Champion Mark Winterbottom says he can't wait to hit the track at this weekend's Clipsal 500 Adelaide to kick-off his title defense.

Winterbottom recognises the importance of a good result this weekend, and is looking to take his first win on the streets of Adelaide.

He says winning the Championship has provided him additional motivation to win this weekend and lead from the front.

Earlier today Prodrive Racing announced Cameron Waters to drive the #6 Monster Energy Falcon, the youngster stepping up after winning the 2015 V8 Supercars Dunlop Series.

New Red Bull Racing recruit Shane van Gisbergen drove his #97 Commodore from the circuit into the Adelaide CBD and Rundle Mall for a crowd favourite pit stop challenge between 'SVG' and Jamie Whincup.

The Clipsal 500 Adelaide kicks off with V8 Supercars first on-track session on Friday morning.
