Yamaha's Maverick Vinales will start from pole for the season-opening Qatar MotoGP after rain storms forced the cancelation of qualifying.
Thunderstorms and persistent rain forced all of qualifying to be abandoned and meant free practice times were used to determine grid order.
Vinales will start alongside Andrea Iannone (Ducatai) and Marc Marquez (Honda) on the front row.
