KEY POINTS:
V8 Supercar champion Greg Murphy and a grid full of present and past V8 stars are pushing the pedal to the metal in a race of a different kind.
They are racing to raise money to support children throughout New Zealand via Variety - the children's charity - by championing the V8 Supercar Charity Edition of Monopoly.
The game is being sold through Supercheap Auto stores across New Zealand for $79.95. Only 1000 games are available. "These are collector editions and will sell like hot cakes," says dad of three Murphy. "It doesn't matter if you are a Holden fan, a Ford fan or have a driver allegiance because when you buy one of these games you'll be helping sick kids."
Instead of dealing with usual Monopoly landmarks such as Mayfair and Park Lane, players have the chance build a V8 racing empire through buying, renting and mortgaging their favourite V8 racing stars.
The game has pictures of present driving champions as well as greats of the V8 Supercar Championship Series including Allan Moffatt, Peter Brock and Larry Perkins.
