V8 Supercars will race in the newly built Circuit of the Americas in Texas next May.
The United States round will be from May 17 to 19, joining New Zealand and the United Arab Emirates as overseas destinations for the Australian motorsport championship.
The facility in Austin has been purpose-built to host a Formula One round next year, and Ford driver Mark Winterbottom, who sampled the circuit in June, said it was a similar layout to the iconic Mount Panorama track in Bathurst.
"It is probably as close to the Bathurst as any track I've seen, purely because of the angulation," Winterbottom said.
"You've got blind corners, you've got the length, you've got the speed, and I think this is going to build up to be a historic track for America as well.
