Time has run out for Team Kiwi in their attempts to have Scott Dixon drive at Bathurst.
The V8 Supercar team had been chasing the US based New Zealander for a one off drive in the great race but that will not now happen.
Team Kiwi boss David John says they have all but given up on Dixon so close to October's race, with talks breaking down between the New Zealanders and Dixon's Indy car team.
He says Dixon would have tested the Team Kiwi car numerous times by now if a drive was a possibility.
However, David John says it is disappointing but they are moving on, and they are not ruling out attempts to secure Dixon in the future.
He says they are now working on securing the best combinations for October's long distance race.
Meanwhile, the V8 Supercars head to Queensland this weekend for round seven of the championship.
