Motorsport: Speedway season to begin with a bang

The speedway season will open with a bang this summer as WXC Speedway Western Springs begins with a Guy Fawkes opener on Novermber 5.

All classes will be in action on the opening night, and the evening will wrap up with a firework display.

"It has been several years since we were able to have this type of pyro display," says promoter Greg Mosen. "We appreciate the support of all those parties involved, to make this possible."

Boom Boom Fireworks have designed the pyro display and are very confident that this will be a great spectacle for everyone in attendance.

The night's racing will include the North v South sprintcar challenge.

Round 1 will be at Western Springs with Round 2 to be held the following weekend at Bay Park.

With the recent interest in this class at Western Springs, additional drivers will push the list of entrants to well over the 20 mark.
