Speedway officials will continue to assess other options around Auckland, despite being determined to stay at Western Springs.
The venue will remain speedway's home until at least 2019, with Regional Facilities Auckland keen to turn it into a cricket, baseball and AFL venue after then.
Promoter Greg Mosen says speedway is a business and they have to have backup options.
Mosen says they're not going to be naïve and not do that and if RFA finds a solution that is better for everybody, they'd look at it.
Having said that Mosen is adamant that Western Springs is the sport's rightful home and says even non-Speedway fans believe they should be able to remain at the iconic track.
