Slow and steady might not win the race, but it's the mindset Hayden Paddon is adopting for Rally Argentina.
Paddon lines up in the latest WRC round this morning, an event he describes as not a favourite of his with its rough terrain and mix of conditions.
The Kiwi driver says he has to change the way he might usually approach stages.
He says it's a matter of holding yourself back when it is rough which is hard to do when you are racing a stopwatch.
Having finished 16th last year after a crash, Paddon knows what he needs to do to make it out the other side.
He says if you stay there or there about's and avoid damage then a good result is possible.
