Russian Robert Shwartzman has won his first race of the Toyota Racing Series by claiming the Denny Hulme Memorial Trophy at Taupo on Sunday.
Teammate and championship leader Marcus Armstrong followed him over the line to remain in control of the series.
Richard Verschoor, the other title contender, finished third to set up a thrilling final race.
Clement Novalak crashed into the back of Brit James Pull at the start of the race. It damaged the nose cone on the front of Novalak's car and sent him flying off the track into a barrier and out of the race.
The race resumed with Shwartzman getting a jump on Armstrong. The Kiwi never really challenged his Ferrari Driver Academy colleague and the Russian became the sixth different winner in this year's championship.
Brendon Leitch and James Pull engaged in a fierce battle that eventually saw them bang wheels. Pull was forced off the road but came back on in front of Leitch before being told to give the position up by the race director.
