The New Zealand V8 championship has yet another leader as Holden driver Kayne Scott was docked 150 points last night for a testing infringement.
The new leader is Ford's Angus Fogg with 986 points, 116 ahead of Scott with defending champion Andy Booth 15 points behind Scott in his Holden.
Since the last round at Taupo, Ford driver John McIntyre has been demoted from first to eighth for running with a non-conforming cylinder head. That decision was upheld by a motorsport court of appeal yesterday.
Scott fell foul of the stewards for driving six laps in teammate Brent Collins' car at Pukekohe last Saturday when he has tutoring the rookie. The Mark Petch Motorsport team had been told by the event director it was allowed.
But the stewards ruled that Scott had infringed the rule against driving another competitor's car at a test session. They fined him $1000 and docked 150 championship points.
They also referred the event director's actions to MotorSport New Zealand. Mark Petch Motorsport have lodged an appeal against the decision.
Engines will be checked at Pukekohe this weekend to see they conform.
