Kiwi driver Scott Dixon takes a healthy Indycars Championship lead into this weekend's round at Pocono Raceway in Pennsylvania.
Earlier in the week the 37-year-old Dixon re-signed with Chip Ganassi Racing having drawn significant interest from major rivals Penske Racing as well as Formula 1 outfit McLaren, who are planning a fulltime entry into Indycars next season.
Dixon is within touching distance of a stunning fifth championship. He holds a 46-point advantage over Alexander Rossi with three normal races coming in the next three weeks plus a double points finish at Sonoma Raceway next month.
He is confident that he can add to his lead at this weekend's round on the Tricky Triangle circuit at Pocono.
"Pocono is a great track and one I think everyone looks forward to on the Indycar schedule each year," Dixon said.
