Series leader Wade Henshaw continued his scorching early season form at Ruapuna yesterday to win his second V8 touring car round in a row.
Henshaw blitzed the 36-car field to win all three of the weekend's races in his Holden. Qualifying fourth on the grid for the first race of the day, he moved into second place on the first corner, passing John McIntyre and Angus Fogg.
He then quickly moved into the lead, passing former champion Paul Manuell the next lap.
Henshaw led to the finish, with Manuell second and McIntyre third.
In the second eight-lap race Henshaw led from pole to claim his second in a row.
The only challenge came from Manuell as he attempted to go wide on the first corner. McIntyre finished second and Manuell third.
The top 10 finishers were reversed on the grid for the final 14-lap race of the day.
Henshaw capped off a magnificent day's driving - starting 10th he powered through the field to take the lead off Shane Drake with seven laps to go. He eventually finished an easy winner from Drake and Mark Pedersen.
"The car is in mint condition and couldn't have performed any better out there today," said Henshaw.
"This is my home track and I know it very well. Some of the guys were driving the wrong lines out there, so there were plenty of opportunities for me."
