An extension has been granted to Red Bull Racing to finalise their appeal following the controversial Bathurst 1000 finish.
RBR must submit evidence to support the protest by late today after successfully requesting an extra 24 hours from governing body Confederation of Australian Motor Sport.
The team were livid after driver Jamie Whincup crossed the line first in Sunday's Great Race, only to be relegated to 11th due to a time penalty earned after a spectacular late crash.
Triple Eight can only appeal to have the punishment reduced rather than removed.
The best they can hope for is to have the 15 second time penalty reduced to 10 seconds.
