KEY POINTS:
Two-time world champion Katherine Prumm reckons she has a lot to thank New Zealand men for as she plans her latest motocross campaign in the United States.
The Aucklander takes to the track in Texas this weekend, primed by several weeks of tough competition competing against men in the national chamionships, which finished near New Plymouth on Sunday.
Prumm easily won the women's title - being unbeaten over four rounds and 12 races - and was 12th overall on a Kawasaki in the 40-rider men's 250cc class.
"Racing in the men's class has been awesome," she said.
"I was hoping for a top-15 ranking but did even better than that."
The 19-year-old will compete in the stand-alone Women's Motocross Association (WMA) Women's Cup in Floresville this weekend.
"There will be lots of international riders there, so it should be a good event. It's always tough over there," Prumm said.
"Racing against the men in New Zealand this summer has toughened me up though. I'm ready for anything."
