Local driver Nick Percat has won a farcical Clipsal 500, crossing the line first amid incredible weather and chaos.
Storms lashed the Adelaide street circuit just minutes before the start of the race with a disputed start, a number of safety cars, and a most unpredictable outcome adding to a fascinating day.
The race results are likely to be subject to numerous queries and appeals - particularly relating to mandated fuel drops.
Fabian Coulthard and Scott Pye finished second and third but did not complete their fuel drop, handing Michael Caruso and Garth Tander the podium positions.
Caruso was named the overall Clipsal 500 winner.
Kiwi Shane van Gisbergen had been battling for the top positions for the majority of the race but ended up finishing 10th after taking an extra pit stop to take on the minimum amount of fuel.
Other leading contenders James Courtney and Chaz Mostert had high speed crashes.
